Democrats had been worried about an "October Surprise" in which the GOP would mount some kind of foreign policy crisis to scare the electorate and stimulate support for John McCain. Well, yesterday, U.S. forces crossed an international boundary to pursue terrorists into Syria. I read about it this morning on page A9 of the Hartford Courant. So, much for the October Surprise.
